✅ Accepting an Invite to Join a Group
Tap the link in the invite email, sign in (or create an account), and pick how you want your drives to attribute.
When someone invites you to their AutoDrive group, you'll get an email that looks like "Aaron Wright invited you to Wright Family on AutoDrive". Tap Accept Invite. You have 7 days before the link expires.
If you already have AutoDrive
The link opens the app on your phone (or the web app if you're on a desktop browser). You'll sign in with your existing credentials and go straight to the accept screen. The email you used to accept must match the one the inviter sent the invite to — mismatches are rejected so a forwarded email can't absorb the invite.
If you don't have an AutoDrive account yet
The link brings you to the sign-up flow. Create an account, and the invite picks up automatically right after.
The "Is this you?" prompt
If the inviter had already created a driver profile with your email (for example, you've always been listed as a family driver on their account), we show you the existing driver row before finalizing:
- Yes, that's me — we link your user account to that driver profile. All the drives they've logged under that profile stay attached to you, and every new drive you record on your phone attributes to the same driver.
- No, add me as a new driver — we create a fresh driver profile from your account details. The existing one stays untouched (useful if the email happened to collide).
- Accept without a driver — you join the group but no driver profile is bound yet. You can pick one later from Account Groups settings.
After accepting, the app automatically switches to the new group so you can see it immediately. Your previous group (your personal one) still exists — use the group switcher in the top nav to move between them.
