✉ Inviting Someone to Your Group
As the owner or an admin, you can invite anyone by email. They get a link that drops them straight into the app.
Only owners and admins can invite people. If you see a + Invite or Invite someone… option on the Account Groups screen, you have permission.
How to invite
- Open the Account Groups screen from your app Settings (or from the sidebar on the web).
- With the right group selected, tap Invite someone….
- Enter the invitee's email. If you're the owner, you can pick Driver, Member, or Admin; admins can invite drivers and members. Pick Driver if the person should only log drives against your vehicles — they won't see Account-level surfaces or be able to add vehicles of their own.
- We send the invitee a branded email with an Accept Invite button. The link expires after 7 days.
What the invitee sees
The email links to theautodriveapp.com/join. If they're on a phone with AutoDrive installed, the link opens the app directly. Otherwise they can download the app from the App Store / Play Store or continue on the web. Either way, after signing in they're shown an Accept screen with the group name, your name, and the role you invited them as.
Already invited but want to change something?
Open the same Account Groups screen. Under Pending Invites you'll see the open invites with their expiry. Swipe-to-revoke (mobile) or click Revoke (web) on an invite you no longer want, then send a new one. A new invite to the same email automatically revokes any older pending ones for that group.
Invites don't block the invitee from accepting them from any device. Once they tap the link and pick a driver during accept, the invite is marked consumed and the token becomes inert.
