👤 Managing Members, Roles, and Leaving a Group

Promote a member to admin, remove someone who no longer needs access, or leave a group that's no longer yours.

From Account Groups → Manage, owners and admins can change roles and remove members. Members can only leave.

Promoting or demoting

Tap a member row to see their current role and the options to change it. Admins can promote members to admin or demote other admins back to member. Only the owner can touch the owner role — and the owner can't be demoted directly; the owner has to transfer ownership first.

Removing a member

Swipe-to-remove on mobile or click Remove next to the member row on web. Removal is immediate — the person loses access to the group's data right away. Their driver profile in the group stays intact, and drives they logged don't get deleted; they're just no longer visible to that user.

You can't remove the owner or yourself — use Leave Group for the latter.

Leaving a group

At the bottom of the Account Groups screen for any group you're not the owner of, there's a Leave Group button. Confirming stops your access immediately. If you change your mind later, the owner or an admin can invite you back.

Deleting a group

Only the owner can delete a group. If you're the last member (and sole owner), deleting is a clean goodbye. If the group has other members, they'll lose access when you delete. Your personal group is deleted when your AutoDrive account is deleted.

Data from a deleted group is soft-deleted for 30 days before being permanently removed — contact Support within that window if you need anything recovered.
