🔒 Account Security
Your account is protected with bcrypt hashing, Keychain storage, and HTTPS-only communication.
AutoDrive takes your account security seriously. Your password is never stored in plain text. Instead, it is hashed using bcrypt, a strong one-way hashing algorithm, before being saved on the server.
On your device, authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, which is the most secure storage mechanism available on Apple devices. Tokens are encrypted at the hardware level and are inaccessible to other apps.
All communication between the app and the AutoDrive server happens over HTTPS. This means your data is encrypted in transit and protected from interception on public networks.
If you decide to stop using AutoDrive, you can request account deletion from the Settings screen (or from Account › Delete Account on the web). We'll ask one quick, optional question about why you're leaving — it's skippable and never blocks deletion.
Your account is then recoverable for 30 days: just sign back in within that window and everything is restored exactly as you left it — no re-setup. After 30 days, your account and all associated data (drives, vehicles, fuel logs, and any personal information) are permanently removed from our servers.
