➕ Buying Vehicle or Driver Add-Ons
Need more vehicles or drivers than your plan's base cap? Buy add-ons on the web for $9.99 per unit per month.
If your group has hit its vehicle or driver cap but you don't want to jump a whole tier, you can add extra slots one at a time, billed monthly through Stripe. The current per-seat price is shown on the Billing → Add-Ons page (and on the at-cap CTA on Account Groups) — it's pulled live from our Stripe catalog so what you see is what you'll pay.
Where to buy
Add-ons are purchased only on the web, on the Billing & Subscriptions → Add-Ons page in AutoDrive Online. The iPhone and Android apps link you there from the at-cap prompt — Apple and Google don't offer a way to stack overage charges onto an in-app subscription, so the web is where this lives.
You need an active base subscription (Personal or Fleet, on any platform) to buy add-ons. Free-tier users see the Upgrade prompt instead.
How billing works
- First purchase — Stripe collects the first month's charge immediately via hosted checkout.
- Adding or removing units later — proration is charged to the card on file right away. If you go from 2 vehicle add-ons to 5 halfway through the month, you pay the prorated difference for the remainder of the cycle.
- Dropping to zero — the add-on subscription is canceled at the end of the current billing period; capacity stays until then, then reverts to your base plan's cap.
Your base subscription can be anywhere
Add-ons bill through Stripe regardless of where the base plan lives. An iPhone user with AutoDrive Personal via the App Store can still add 3 extra drivers through Stripe on the web. The two subscriptions are independent: you'll see two line items (one from Apple, one from Stripe) on different dates.
What happens if my base subscription lapses?
If your base plan expires or is canceled, the add-on sub is automatically canceled at the end of its current billing period — no double-charging you for extra capacity you can't use. Resubscribing to the base plan does not automatically re-enable add-ons; go back to the Add-Ons page to buy them again.
Managing add-ons from the iPhone or Android app
The app's Account Groups screen shows your add-on count as read-only, with a Manage on Web button that deep-links to the right page. Apple's and Google's subscription management screens don't know about Stripe add-ons — if you want to cancel or change them, use the web page.
