📱 AutoCare on iPhone

The iOS app ships AutoCare in two pieces: an AutoCare hub tile on the AutoDrive Hub home screen, and a Settings › AutoCare Reminders sub-screen for delivery channels. Both surfaces read your active account group server-side, so the same vehicles + reminders + recalls that show on the web appear on your phone.

What's on the hub

• Group health rollup — counts of overdue, due soon, and on-track reminders for every vehicle in your active group.
• Reminders — the same severity-sorted list as the web, with Snooze (7 / 30 / 90 days) and Dismiss actions on each row.
• Vehicle Recalls — NHTSA open-recall lookup per vehicle. Free for every account, whether or not you have the AutoCare add-on. Vehicles without a VIN show an "Add a VIN" button that jumps to the Vehicles editor.
• AutoCare Reminders — the same push / email / in-app + quiet-hours settings as Settings › AutoCare Reminders on the web.

Push notifications

When the nightly reminder cron pushes a reminder to your iPhone, tapping the notification opens the AutoDrive app directly to the Reminders list, scrolled to and highlighting the matching row. If the reminder was already cleared (you logged the service in between), you land on the Reminders list with the same severity ordering as the web.

If the AutoDrive notification banner ever stops appearing on the lock screen, double-check Settings › Notifications › AutoDrive on iOS and the Push notifications toggle inside AutoCare Reminders in the app — either off-switch silences delivery.

Service History + Schedule (Phase B)

Phase B added two more read-only surfaces:

• Service History — every logged visit, grouped by month, with a 90 d / 1 yr / All time toggle and a per-vehicle filter. The card shows the date, vehicle, odometer, primary service, line-item chips, the vendor name (paired with the work-order number when both are present), and total. A summary card at the top reports total visits, total spent, and cost-per-mile across the filtered set.
• Visit detail — tap a card to see the full line-item breakdown, labor / warranty / deductible flags, a Serviced by section naming the shop, the receipt (opens in Safari), and any visit notes.
• Schedule — per-vehicle interval grid with the same severity colouring as the web: red overdue, amber due-soon (within 500 mi or 30 days), green on track, gray muted or no history. The section banner per vehicle tints amber when anything needs attention.

Write path (Phase C)

Phase C added the full write surface — no more "view on web" redirects for these flows:

• Log a Visit — a three-step flow (basics → line items → receipt + notes). The line-item editor lets you pick a catalog service type or enter a custom label, with cost, labor hours, warranty mo/mi, and a deductible flag per line. Save commits everything in a single transactional call. The Reminder action sheet picks up Mark as done that pre-fills step 2 with the matching service type, so a tap on a "Oil Change overdue" reminder lands you straight in the line-item screen with the row already there.
• Manage Schedule — tap a row to edit the trigger mode (Either / Both / One-time), the mileage / time interval (or one-time targets), the baseline last-done date + odometer, and the mute toggle. An Add chip on the Schedule list picks a vehicle then a service type. Vehicles with no intervals show Set up default schedule, which seeds the common ones (oil, tires, registration, inspection) in one tap.
• Observations — tap 🎙 Quick log to capture a symptom by voice. The app transcribes in real time using Apple's on-device speech recognition; tap ✓ to drop into the editor with the description pre-filled and the severity inferred from keywords (squeal / smoke / grind → High, rattle / vibrate → Med). You can also type one out from the editor directly. Swipe a row to Resolve, Re-open, or Delete.
• Shops & Vendors — full CRUD with a search field. Add the shops you use so the Log a Visit vendor picker stops asking for the same name three times a year.

The first time you tap Quick log, iOS asks for Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions. If you decline, the app falls back to a typed observation — voice is the fast path, not the only path.

The AutoCare add-on

AutoCare is free on your first vehicle — log service, set reminders, and run a schedule for it at no charge. To unlock every vehicle in your group, plus Observations and the Shops & Vendors directory, add the AutoCare add-on.

The add-on is billed on the AutoDrive website, not through the App Store. When it is inactive you will see an Unlock AutoCare banner on the AutoCare hub, and the Observations and Shops & Vendors rows show a padlock; tapping either opens a sheet that explains the add-on and links you to the web billing page. Service History stays open but shows your 3 most recent visits for the free vehicle, with an upgrade prompt for the rest — the same limit as the web. Subscribe on the web and the app picks up the change automatically — no reinstall needed.
