✅ Drive Detection Checklist
A step-by-step list of OS-level toggles AutoDrive needs in order to detect drives in the background.
AutoDrive can only detect drives in the background if your phone’s OS-level permissions are configured correctly. The Drive Detection Checklist walks through every setting that matters and shows you, at a glance, which ones are still missing.
You can open it from three places:
- iPhone — Settings tab → Drive Detection Checklist. The settings row shows a green check when everything looks good, or a warning indicator when at least one toggle still needs your attention — red when something detection can’t run without (like location set to anything short of Always / Allow all the time) is missing. Tap any item on the checklist to jump straight to the right page in the iOS Settings app.
- Android — Settings tab → Drive Detection Checklist. Same indicator on the row, and each item deep-links to the matching Settings page on your phone.
- Online — Help → Drive Detection Checklist. Pick iOS or Android and the wizard shows the same list of toggles with the exact path to find each one. The web version is instruction-only since the browser cannot reach into your phone’s settings.
On iOS the list covers Location Access (Always), Precise Location, Motion & Fitness, Background App Refresh, Notifications, Live Activities, and Low Power Mode. On Android it covers Location (Allow all the time), Precise Location, Physical Activity, Notifications, Battery Optimization, and Nearby Devices.
If automatic drives ever stop being detected, the checklist is the first place to look — it’s common for a permission to flip from Always back to While Using the App after an OS update or for Battery Optimization to re-engage after a long stretch of disuse.
