⛅ Weather Conditions for Each Drive

Every drive captures the destination weather at save time. Active subscribers can view the snapshot and refresh it on demand.

AutoDrive stamps a destination-weather snapshot on every drive when it’s saved — conditions, temperature, feels-like, wind, humidity, and recent precipitation at the trip’s end coordinates. The data is captured for every account regardless of plan, so the moment a free user upgrades, every previously recorded drive immediately reveals its weather without any backfill.

Where to find it. Open any drive and scroll past the Details section — you’ll see a Weather at Destination card showing the captured snapshot. The same card appears in iOS, Android, and AutoDrive Online.

Subscription gating. The captured weather is part of every drive record, but viewing it requires an active subscription (any paid tier). Free-plan accounts see the section with a locked overlay and an Upgrade call-to-action; the historical data is still being written underneath, so upgrading reveals it across every drive instantly.

Refresh. Active subscribers see a small refresh button in the weather card (next to the heading), similar to the one on the Cost stat. Tapping it re-fetches the destination weather from the provider. This is most useful when the original capture failed (the drive was uploaded with no end coordinates yet, or the weather provider had a temporary hiccup), but it can also be used to pull a fresh reading on a drive that just ended.

Lookup window. AutoDrive can pull weather for any drive ending within the last 92 days — that covers the realistic “just synced a backlog of drives from a long offline period” case as well as freshly recorded trips. A manual refresh on a drive older than that returns “weather backfill is limited to the last three months” and leaves the existing snapshot untouched.

What we capture. Condition (e.g. Clear, Rain, Snow), short description, icon, temperature (°F), feels-like (°F), wind speed (mph), humidity (%), and precipitation in the last hour (inches). All values are stored on the drive row itself so they appear in reports and exports too.

Provider. Weather data is sourced from Open-Meteo, a free open-source weather API.
