🗺 Editing a Drive Route

Sometimes a recorded route does not quite match the trip you actually took — most often the start is a few blocks off because GPS took a moment to lock on after you pulled out. On AutoDrive Online you can fix this directly.

Open any drive from your Drives list and click Edit Route in the detail window. The route editor opens with a map of your drive.

How the editor works

You do not edit the raw GPS trail point by point. Instead the editor gives you a handful of waypoints — control points along the route — and snaps the path between them to real roads automatically. Your original recorded route stays visible as a faint gray line so you can always see what changed.

• Drag a point to move it. The green A point is the start; the red B point is the end.
• Click the orange line to add a new point where you want the route to bend.
• Click a middle point to remove it. The start and end points cannot be removed, only moved.

The distance updates live as you edit. Set the Start Time and End Time by hand — duration and average speed are recalculated from them when you save. Use Reset to start over from the recorded route.

Saving and reverting

Click Save Route to keep your changes. The first time you edit a drive's route, AutoDrive quietly keeps a copy of the original recorded route, so an edit is never destructive. A drive whose route has been edited shows an Edited badge on its detail window, along with a small Revert link — clicking it (after a confirm) restores the originally-recorded GPS trace and discards your editor changes for that drive.

If you start editing and change your mind, Cancel or the × in the top-right will ask before discarding your pending edits.

Subscription

The route editor is part of every paid AutoDrive plan. Free accounts can view routes but not edit them — the Edit Route button opens an upgrade screen instead. The editor is currently available on AutoDrive Online (the web app); the iPhone and Android apps display edited routes but do not yet edit them.
