🛣 Mixed Fleets — Gas and Electric Together
AutoDrive supports owning ICE and EV vehicles side-by-side; the UI follows whichever vehicle is active.
You can have gas, diesel, and electric vehicles in the same AutoDrive account. Whichever vehicle is set as active drives what the app shows you — no toggles, no settings, no separate accounts.
When you switch the active vehicle from an ICE car to an EV (or vice versa), these surfaces flip in place:
- The Fuel dashboard tab becomes Charging with a bolt icon, and back again
- The Gas Stations tab becomes Charging Stations, and back again
- The Fuel Log / Charge Log swap so you only ever see the one that applies
- Stats, cost calculations, and dashboard tiles use the matching engine for the active car
On the web app the nav handles this at the item level: Fuel Log and Charge Log live under Logbook, and Gas Stations and Charging Stations live under Nearby. Each of those four entries appears only when you own at least one vehicle of the matching type — an ICE-only fleet never sees the charging entries, an EV-only fleet never sees the fuel entries, and a mixed fleet sees all four.
Reports show whichever data exists. If you ran a year-to-date report on a household with one ICE and one EV, you will see Fuel blocks and Charging blocks side-by-side, plus a Cost Breakdown tile that stacks fuel spend and charging spend together.
