⚡ Finding Nearby EV Charging Stations

Browse nearby EV charging stations on a map, with network, connector, and access details.

When the active vehicle is electric, AutoDrive replaces the Gas Stations tab with the Charging Stations finder. Open it from the dashboard’s Stations button to see chargers near your current location on an interactive map.

The list shows each station’s name, distance, and operator/network. Tap a station to see full details:

  • Network & operator — e.g. Tesla, Electrify America, ChargePoint, EVgo
  • Connectors — available plug types (CCS, CHAdeMO, Tesla Supercharger, Type 2, etc.) with stall counts when published
  • Capacity — total number of stalls at the location
  • Access — whether the location is public, customers-only, or private
  • Fee — whether charging is paid or free, when known
  • Live availability — how many stalls are open right now (Available / Occupied / Out of Service), refreshed every minute or two when the data source supports it

Use the distance chips at the top (1, 5, 10, or 25 miles) to widen or narrow the search radius. Tap any station row to center the map and see directions.

Data sources. AutoDrive prefers TomTom for charging-station data when available — that’s where the live availability comes from. When TomTom is unreachable or doesn’t cover an area, AutoDrive falls back to OpenStreetMap via the public Overpass API, the same free, community-maintained source used for gas stations. OSM coverage and detail vary by region, but live availability isn’t available there — the badge will show as Unknown when AutoDrive is reading from OSM. If you spot a missing or incorrect OSM station, you can edit it directly on OpenStreetMap and the change will appear in AutoDrive automatically.
