📍 Finding Nearby Gas Stations
Browse nearby gas stations filtered by fuel type, sorted by distance or price.
AutoDrive can help you find gas stations near your current location. Go to Settings > Gas Stations to access the station finder, which displays nearby options on an interactive map.
You can customize the results with two controls:
- Filter by fuel type — switches which fuel grade the regional reference price represents (regular, midgrade, premium, diesel)
- Search radius — 1 to 25 miles from your current location
Each station shows its address and distance. When a contributor has reported a price for that specific station, the price is shown directly on the row. Most stations don't have reported prices, so for those rows AutoDrive shows a single regional reference price for the area — either an average drawn from your own recent fill-ups, or the latest US Energy Information Administration weekly retail price for your region. The label under the price tells you which one you're looking at:
- Your last fill-up / Your group avg — based on fuel logs you've entered. Most accurate for what you actually pay.
- Regional avg (EIA) — weekly retail average for your part of the country.
- US national avg — fallback when no regional data is available.
This is a deliberate change from earlier versions, which displayed the regional average on every station row as if it were live per-station pricing. There is no free real-time per-station price feed for US gas stations, so AutoDrive is now upfront about which numbers come from the pump and which are averages. Always confirm the price at the pump before filling up.
Driving an EV? When the active vehicle is electric, the Stations tab automatically swaps to the EV Charging Station finder — you will never see gas stations for a car that does not burn fuel.
