✅ Enable LiveDrive for a Driver

Once your group has the LiveDrive addon, enabling broadcasting for a specific driver is a two-step flow: admin DPA, then driver consent.

To enable LiveDrive for a driver in your Fleet group:

  1. Confirm your group’s LiveDrive addon is active on the Billing page. The Live Map and toggles are hidden when the addon is not active.
  2. Open Manage Drivers and click the pencil icon on the driver’s card.
  3. Scroll to the LiveDrive Tracking section at the bottom of the edit form and switch the toggle on. The first time you enable any driver, AutoDrive will prompt you to accept the LiveDrive DPA addendum on behalf of your organization. You must check the lawful-basis confirmation before the Accept button activates.
  4. The driver’s row will now show "Waiting for driver to accept consent." The driver sees an on-device consent prompt the next time they open AutoDrive on iOS or Android, and broadcasting begins as soon as they accept.

What broadcasts and what doesn’t

Once a driver has accepted, their device sends a position about every 30 seconds while the app has location permission and a network connection. The cadence is configurable per driver from 15–120 seconds in their Settings → LiveDrive screen. Drivers can also choose Auto only when driving, which suppresses broadcasts whenever no drive is in progress.

Disabling a driver

Toggling the switch off in the driver editor calls the same flow in reverse: the server immediately deletes the live position row, drops the driver from the Live Map, and stops accepting further broadcasts. Disabling does not clear the driver’s consent record — if you re-enable later, broadcasting resumes without a fresh prompt unless the LiveDrive terms version has bumped in the meantime.
