🛡 LiveDrive Geofences & Alerts
Define circle or polygon zones and get notified when LiveDrive-enabled drivers enter, exit, or dwell inside them.
Geofences are named zones on the map. When a LiveDrive-enabled driver crosses a zone boundary — or stays inside long enough to trigger a dwell timer — admins are notified by push and (optionally) email.
Creating a zone
Open AutoDrive Online and choose LiveDrive → Geofences. Click New Zone, then give it a name and color, choose circle or polygon, and set a center + radius (or polygon outline). Pick which transitions should alert: Enter, Exit, and/or Dwell (with a minutes threshold). Toggle Email admins if you want the alerts mirrored over email in addition to push.
How alerts fire
Each accepted LiveDrive ingest evaluates the active zones for the driver. A boundary crossing inserts a row into the geofence event log, then sends a push to every owner/admin in the group. To prevent flapping at the boundary, the same (zone, driver, type) cannot fire again within 60 seconds.
Dwell when broadcasts go silent
If a driver enters a zone with a dwell rule and then stops emitting positions before the timer elapses (battery, signal loss, app close), a sweep cron fires the dwell event after the threshold has passed. You will not silently miss a long stop.
Reviewing events
The LiveDrive → Geofence Events page lists recent enter/exit/dwell events with filters for zone, driver, and "unacknowledged only". Click Acknowledge after reviewing so the row drops out of the unack feed for the next admin on shift.
Privacy posture
Zone authoring is admin-only. Driver-side, geofences only matter when LiveDrive is enabled and the driver has accepted consent.
