📡 What is LiveDrive?

LiveDrive is a paid addon available only on Fleet account groups. While active, each enabled driver’s current GPS position is shared with admins approximately every 30 seconds and shown on the in-app Live Map. By default, AutoDrive also keeps a rolling 30-day route history so admins can replay past trips, runs geofence alerts, and computes a nightly driver behavior scorecard. History can be disabled per-group for privacy-conscious fleets — drivers always see exactly what is being kept on the consent prompt, and consent re-fires whenever the LiveDrive terms version changes.

Two-step consent

LiveDrive requires consent from both the group admin and each enabled driver before any broadcasting begins:

• Admin DPA acceptance. Before enabling any driver, the group owner accepts the LiveDrive Data Processing Addendum on behalf of the organization. This represents that the organization has lawful basis to monitor driver location in each jurisdiction it operates in.
• Driver on-device consent. When a driver is enabled, an on-device consent prompt is shown the next time they open the app. Until they accept, the server suppresses their broadcasts entirely.

What admins see

The Live Map page shows one marker per actively-broadcasting driver, color-coded by freshness (green within 30 s, amber 30–90 s, grey older). A draggable card lists driver name, currently-attached vehicle, address, speed, heading, and a relative-time stamp. Markers fall off the map when the driver pauses, revokes, or simply stops sending fixes.

What drivers see

While broadcasting, drivers see a thin green banner across the top of the app and a persistent system notification (Android) or in-app pause control (iOS). They can pause for up to 24 hours or revoke consent entirely from Settings → LiveDrive at any time, and any single tap stops broadcasts immediately.

Pricing & eligibility

LiveDrive is sold as a separate Stripe subscription on top of your Fleet base plan and any vehicle/driver capacity addons. Personal groups and free accounts cannot purchase the addon — the toggle is hidden in those contexts. See Add-on purchases for billing details.
