✉️ Emails We Send About Your Subscription
A reference for the transactional emails AutoDrive sends when you subscribe, get charged, cancel, or add drivers and vehicles.
AutoDrive sends a small set of transactional emails so the group owner always has a paper trail for what happened on their account. These are not marketing emails — they're tied to specific events and you can't unsubscribe from them while your subscription is active.
Subscription emails (from billing@theautodriveapp.com)
- Welcome — sent the moment your Personal, Fleet, or LiveDrive subscription becomes active. Plan-specific perks, your group name, and your first billing or trial-end date.
- Renewed (receipt) — sent every successful renewal charge with the amount, invoice number, and next billing date. The first activation charge is covered by the Welcome email, so you won't get both.
- Payment failed — sent when a renewal charge doesn't go through. Includes the amount due and a button to update your payment method. Your plan stays active during a short grace period while we retry.
- Canceled — sent when your subscription is canceled (by you, or by Stripe/Apple/Google for non-payment). You keep premium access through the period-end date shown in the email.
Group activity emails (from info@theautodriveapp.com)
- Driver added — sent to the group owner when a new driver is created in the group. Skipped when the owner is the one adding the driver (no point emailing yourself).
- Vehicle added — sent to the group owner when a new vehicle is created. Same self-skip rule.
Why these aren't opt-out
These six emails are transactional — they confirm something that just happened on your account, like a receipt from a store. They don't go through the unsubscribe list because we need to be able to tell you when a payment fails or your card stops working. Marketing-style emails (feature announcements, tips) are still opt-out from the unsubscribe link in the footer.
