💱 AutoDrive Personal vs AutoDrive Fleet
Subscriptions entitle the whole group, not a single person. Everyone in the group gets premium.
AutoDrive has a free tier and two monthly subscription plans. They're identical in features — both unlock the Report Builder, higher vehicle and driver limits, and every premium surface — but each paid plan is tied to a group type.
| Plan | For | Price | Vehicles | Drivers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Anyone, any group | Free | 1 | 1 |
| AutoDrive Personal | Household groups | $4.99 / month | Up to 2 | Up to 2 |
| AutoDrive Fleet | Fleet groups | $99.99 / month | Up to 20 | Up to 20 |
Prices may vary by region.
What happens when I hit a limit?
Your Account Groups page shows a Your Limits card with a live "N of M" count for vehicles and drivers, and a progress bar that turns red at-cap. On Free, the at-cap CTA opens the Upgrade prompt. On Personal or Fleet (including gift and lifetime grants), the at-cap row shows an Add Vehicles or Add Drivers button that jumps to Billing → Add-Ons, where you can buy extra capacity one seat at a time for $9.99 / month each through Stripe.
Custom limits
If our support team has granted your group a custom limit (comped account, early access, or an oversized fleet), the Your Limits card shows a small (custom limits) badge next to the plan name. The numbers you see are what the server enforces — the plan's standard cap no longer applies.
How entitlement works across platforms
The subscription belongs to the group, not the person or the device that bought it. If you buy AutoDrive Personal on your iPhone, every member of the group gets premium features — including your spouse on Android and your dad on the web. There is only ever one active subscription per group at a time.
Where can I subscribe?
- iPhone / iPad — in-app purchase through the App Store.
- Android — in-app purchase through Google Play.
- Web — secure checkout via Stripe from the Billing & Subscriptions page in AutoDrive Online.
Apple and Google handle billing, refunds, and family sharing on their end. For web, Stripe handles checkout, receipts, and recurring billing. Receipts, invoices, and refund history from every platform show up in a single unified list on the Billing page. All routes end up in the same place server-side: your group is marked premium, and the AutoDrive app unlocks features everywhere. Billing-related emails come from billing@theautodriveapp.com.
Free trials
On iPhone or Android, the Subscribe button shows the trial up front (e.g. Start 7 days free trial) instead of a price. Apple and Google each give you one introductory trial per subscription type per store account, so the button only advertises the trial when your account is still eligible — otherwise you'll see Subscribe — $X.XX/month. While trialing, the Account Groups screen shows Free trial · Billing starts {date}. You can cancel from the App Store or Play Store before that date and you won't be charged.
On the web, paid plans include a free trial (currently 7 days for Personal and 30 days for Fleet) and the pricing card displays the trial badge. A payment method is required at checkout, but the first charge happens after the trial ends. You can cancel anytime from your Billing page before the trial ends and you won't be charged. Trial lengths and the products themselves are managed in the admin Products catalog.
Why can't I apply my Personal subscription to a Fleet group?
The two plans are priced differently, and applying Personal to a Fleet would underpay for what the Fleet gets. On verification, the server rejects a mismatch with a product_mismatch error, the in-app flow surfaces an "Upgrade to AutoDrive Fleet" prompt, and your Personal subscription stays attached to whichever Personal group you bought it for.
