Recordkeeping the IRS expects — without the busywork

You don’t have an expense department. AutoDrive does the contemporaneous log for you, so tax time is a download, not a reconstruction.

Automatic detection

Your phone knows when you’re driving. Trips start and stop on their own — even a quick supply run — with no app to open.

One-tap Business / Personal

Swipe a drive into Business or Personal. Set a purpose once and trips to a regular client classify themselves next time.

Live deduction counter

Business miles × the current IRS standard rate, added up as you drive. Watch your write-off grow all year.

IRS-compliant mileage log

Date, route, purpose, miles, and dollars — the contemporaneous record that survives an audit, kept for you automatically.

Schedule C-ready export

A clean year-end summary by purpose, exportable to PDF or CSV with the IRS columns — hand it straight to your tax software or CPA.

Standard rate or actual

Mileage and fuel both captured per vehicle, so you can claim whichever method deducts more — without losing a year of data.

Tolls & parking, auto-captured

Cross a toll plaza on a business trip and AutoDrive logs the charge for you to confirm — add parking the same way. Both deduct on top of your mileage.

Capture & classify

Drive. One tap. It’s a deduction.

AutoDrive logs the trip before you’ve parked. Swipe it into Business and pick a purpose — the drive is now deductible and counted toward your Schedule C. Personal trips stay out of it.

  • Nothing to remember. Trips record in the background; you just confirm Business or Personal.
  • Purposes that stick. “Client visit,” “Supply run,” “Job site” — reusable, and auto-applied to repeat routes.
  • Named places. Home, your office, a regular client — recognized so every row reads like your week, not GPS coordinates.

Watch your write-off add up

Every business mile is multiplied by the 2026 IRS standard mileage rate and tallied in real time. No spreadsheet, no shoebox — just a number that’s always current and always defensible.

  • Always the right rate. The current IRS cents-per-mile is built in — 72.5¢ for 2026 — and updates each year.
  • Business vs personal at a glance. A split bar shows exactly how much of your driving is deductible.
  • Service costs too. With AutoCare, deductible repairs roll up beside your mileage for the actual-expense method.

The contemporaneous log, kept for you

The IRS wants a log made as you drive — date, where you went, why, and how far. AutoDrive writes it automatically, so you’re never reconstructing a year of trips from memory the night before filing.

  • Every column the IRS expects. Date, route, purpose, miles, and dollar value — per drive.
  • Audit-ready by default. Timestamps and routes are captured live, not typed in after the fact.
  • Filter to what counts. One view of just your Business, deductible miles — ready to total.

One tax-year summary, ready to file

At tax time, your whole year rolls up by purpose into a deduction total you can hand to your CPA or drop into your tax software. Export it to a clean PDF — built with AutoDrive’s Report Builder, the same engine the rest of the app uses.

  • Ready-made IRS templates. Mileage Log, Business Mileage, and Deductible-Mileage reports, one click each.
  • Totals by purpose. See exactly which work drove the deduction — client visits, job sites, supply runs.
  • PDF or CSV. Share the polished PDF, or hand the CSV to your accountant’s software.

Self-employed mileage questions

Is AutoDrive really free for self-employed work?

Yes. One driver with one vehicle is free forever — automatic tracking, one-tap Business/Personal classification, and your live mileage-deduction total are all included with no credit card. Exporting IRS reports and the Schedule C PDF/CSV is a paid feature: the Personal and Fleet plans add report exports plus more vehicles, drivers, and shared reporting.

How does AutoDrive calculate my mileage deduction?

It multiplies your Business miles by the current IRS standard mileage rate (72.5 cents per mile for 2026) and keeps a running total. The rate is built in and updates automatically each tax year, so the number is always current.

Is the mileage log IRS-compliant and audit-ready?

AutoDrive keeps a contemporaneous log — recorded as you drive, with the date, route, business purpose, and miles for every trip. That is the documentation the IRS expects for the standard mileage deduction, captured live rather than reconstructed from memory.

Can I export a Schedule C summary?

Yes — report export is included on the Personal and Fleet plans. Pick an IRS template (Mileage Log, Business Mileage, or Deductible Mileage) and export a clean PDF or CSV, generated by the AutoDrive Report Builder and totaled by purpose, ready for your tax software or accountant.

Standard mileage rate or actual expenses — can I do both?

AutoDrive captures both your miles and your fuel/charging per vehicle, so you have the records for either method and can claim whichever gives the larger deduction. Add the AutoCare add-on to log deductible repairs and service alongside your mileage for the actual-expense method.

What if I drive multiple vehicles or for multiple clients?

Each vehicle keeps its own odometer, fuel log, and report, so a personal car and a work van stay cleanly separated. Reusable purposes let you split drives across clients or jobs, and repeat routes classify themselves automatically.

Stop reconstructing your mileage at tax time

Capture every business mile automatically and let the deduction add itself up — before you pay for anything.
